Former Grecian Jon Challinor Signs for FC Halifax

Former Exeter City player Jon Challinor has signed on dual registration for FC Halifax Town jon_challinor_pic1from Stamford AFC. Challs played 92 times for Exeter City between 2005 and 2007 scoring 21 goals from midfield.

He came to Exeter from fellow Conference team Aldershot Town, and was last seen at St James Park in September 2012 playing for York City. This season, Challinor has made 31 appearances for the Daniels scoring 4 goals.

Stamford manager David Staff said on the move:-jon_challinor_thumb

I have a great relationship with Chal and he actually has found this a hard decision and wouldn’t leave for another non league step 2/3 club, but Halifax are in a great position and it is a good opportunity for him at this stage of his career’.

I had an agreement all along that I would support him if this situation came up. If for what ever jon_challinor_featreason it doesn’t work out, we keep his forms and would welcome someone of his ability and attitude back, no problem. We wish all the best and thank for his contribution to our season thus far.

Jon would have been in tonight’s squad for the Conference game against Salisbury City but that game has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
