The Football League in conjunction with their sponsors Sky Bet have announced the manager of the month for November and the player of the month for November for League 2.

Manager

Southend United’s boss Phil Brown takes the November manager award. The former Hull City and Preston manager led his team through November unbeaten.

Former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley, who chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel, said:

Phil Brown has made a very positive start to the season with Southend and an unbeaten month has moved his side into the automatic promotion places.

In an incredibly tight Sky Bet League 2, Southend are one of five teams on 33 points in the division at the end of November.

Player

Dagenham and Redbridge’s Zavon Hines won the November player award. Hines, 24,  scored three times during the month, including the opener in the 2-0 win against Burton Albion. He also scored a stunning solo goal in the away defeat to Hartlepool United, as well as finding the net against Plymouth Argyle in a 2-1 defeat at Home Park.

Dagenham and Redbridge manager Wayne Burnett said:

I’m absolutely delighted for Zavon, he’s come here and has set the place alight at times.

The thing that has impressed me most is his incredible workrate. He’s got hunger and desire and works incredibly hard due to his love for the game. He’s done very well this month with some goals and assists and is deservedly getting the plaudits.

Sky Sports’ Football League pundit Don Goodman said:

The former West Ham youngster has been in fine form during November in a Dagenham and Redbridge side pushing for a promotion place.

He has added goals to his tricky wing play and looks to have settled in to regular football after a difficult few seasons.
