Daniel Nardiello: Bury ‘the perfect club’

With Bury coming to St James Park on Saturday, it’ll be an opportunity for Grecians to check out how one of our former strikers is getting on. Nards played 75 times for Exeter and netted 24 times. His most famous goal being the injury time winner at Home Park to knock Argyle out of the JPT. He also managed to get himself sent off at Charlton, having put the ball past former Exeter ‘keeper Hamer to see that the goal was not given, he then abused for the lino saying the ball was over the lineoakley_nards_pen. City then went on to lose 2-0 to Charlton.

Nards went on loan to Bury (covered on Exeweb here) earlier this month. He got his first goal on Tuesday night in Bury’s 1-0 win over Hartlepool.

Interviewed on radio Nards gave a big hint that he’ll not be returning to Rotherham United.  Speaking to Radio Manchester after that win, Nards said:-

It’s good to finally get a starting place in the team and get my chance to prove what I can do. It’s nice when a manager really wants you at the club, appreciates you and gives you that chance to thrive. It’s the perfect club for me to be at, where I can enjoy my football and play regularly.

They’ve been creating chances but the problem has been scoring goals. Between myself, Danny Hylton and Shaun Harrad, I’m sure we’ll get plenty this season.

Former Grecian and now Bury boss Ronnie Jepson added:-

Hylton works himself into the ground and Nardiello is always sniffing around for chances. The more stuff we get into the box, the more goals they’ll get
