Plymouth Argyle Away Next in Devon Bowl

An Exeter City side took on Exmouth Town tonight at St James Park in the St Lukes Challenge Cup, also known as the Devon Bowl. The Grecians featured a mixture of youth players, and young 1st teamers. The winners would play Plymouth Argyle in the quarter finals. Argyle had beaten Bideford AFC in the 2nd round.

Exeter City lined-up: Pym; Dawson, Tillson, Moore-Taylor, Wannell; Wheeler, Grimes, Keohane, Gosling; Jay; Nichols (capt). Subs: Hamon, Riley-Lowe, Watkins, Pope, Rigg.

Exmouth Town: Fisher; Woodin, Fisher, Weekes, Vere; Hill, Moore, Boere, Thomson; High, Coombes. Subs: Saunders, Yeoman, Pears, Greening.

Exeter City won 4-2 thanks to goals from Matty Jay (2) and Tom Nichols (2) for City, and for Exmouth Town Lewis Coombes and Ace High.

The game with Plymouth Argyle is likely to take place in November, but no date has yet been set.
