Football League 2 Player and Manager of September Nominations

The Football League have announced their nominations for the manager of the month for September for League 2, and the nominations for player of the month.

Managers:-

Jim Bentley (Morecambe). Morecambe have won 2 and drawn 2 in September, which included 3 away games. Bentley’s team sit in 9th place.

Paul Cook (Chesterfield). Having won the award last month, Chesterfield have carried on with their good run with 3 wins out of 4, though suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of local rivals Mansfield Town.

Paul Cox (Mansfield Town). 3 wins and a draw for Mansfield Town. The results included a win over L2 promotion favourites Chesterfield. Paul Cox’s side sit 3rd in the table.

Keith Hill (Rochdale). With 4 wins out of 4, Rochdale sit in 5th place in League 2.

Players:

Etienne Esajas (Scunthorpe United). The Dutchman’s has helped the Irons to an unbeaten month, and scored against Plymouth Argyle.

Alan Marriott (Mansfield Town). Had an excellent game in the derby game with Chesterfield keeping a clean sheet. Part of a squeaky clean defence.

Abu Ogogo (Dagenham and Redbridge). Daggers new captain, and has moved out of defence to a central midfield role. Scored against Bristol Rovers and Morecambe.

Antoni Sarcevic (Fleetwood Town).Signed in the summer from Chester. 3 goals in September confirms his nomination.
