FA Cup 2013/14: First Qualifying Round and Just 2 Devon Clubs

With 2 rounds completed, we now enter the 1st qualifying round of the FA Cup this weekend (Saturday 13th September).

Just 2 Devon Clubs left in the competition. Bideford and Plymouth Parkway the standard bearersgosport_bideford13 for Devon, until Exeter, Torquay and Argyle join in the first round proper.

Bideford AFC are at home to Larkhall Athletic. Bideford start their FA Cup adventure in this round. Larkhall have already knocked out 2 Devon Clubs, Willand Rovers and in the last round Tiverton Town. Larkhall sit 2nd in the Western Premier Division, so will have plenty of confidence going in to this game, however, Bideford have also had a good start to the season and sit 2nd in their league, Southern League Premier, having won 5 and drawn 2. Plymouth Parkway head up towards Bristol to take on Clevedon Town. Clevedon Town had a comfortable 4-1 win over Bishop Sutton to get to this round, while Plymouth Parkway overcame Ilfracombe 4-1. Parkway of the South West Peninsula Premier league, have had a storming start to the season having won all 4 of their matches, Clevedon however are 20th in the Southern League Division One South & West. Expect an away win.

Winning clubs will receive £3000 from the prize fund.

The draw for the 2nd qualifying round will take place on Monday 16th September.
