Tommy extends deal with the club

City midfielder Tommy Doherty has put pen to paper to extend his stay at St James Park until the end of the season. The Northern Ireland international joined us in July.

Doherty limped off in our recent defeat to Rotherham and is expected to be sidelined for 3 weeks or so with a hamstring injury, but the no-nonsense midfielder has impressed since his arrival. Tommy has made 11 appearances for the Grecians so far this season and provided the assist for what proved to be a crucial second Cureton goal at Barnet back in October.
