Football League Chairman Apologises for Football League Website Fiasco

Exeweb have been able to get hold of the statement, released by the Football League Chairman Greg Clarke relating to the problems that have been encountered with the new Football League Club websites.

I am writing to you on the subject of FLi’s new Club Website platform, which was launched in conjunction with our new technical partner, SapientNitro, at the start of this season.

Since early August I have spoken to many of you on this subject both at games and over the phone. To be frank, the new platform has not met our expectations and has fallen far short of the levels of reliability and service that our clubs have every right to expect.

Rollouts of new technology platforms are usually problematic but that is no excuse, as our clubs have enough to deal with in such adverse economic circumstances. It is simply unacceptable.

When I became Chairman of The Football League I made it very clear that I took accountability for the performance of our central organisation.

The performance of our new FLi platform has fallen well short of the high standards I hold our central organisation to and that you have every right to expect. For this failure I take accountability and apologise.

Yours Sincerely

Greg Clarke
Chairman
The Football League
