Danny Coles Unveiled as Exeter City’s Captain

Paul Tisdale announced this evening that Danny Coles would be the new captain. Talking to fans at the cricket fund-raising match tonight, Paul Tisdale explained that the defender, Danny Coles, aged 30, would be the captain with Steve Tully being the vice-captain.

Danny Coles joined from Bristol last June, and has made a big impact in the heart of defence, following in the hallowed boots of Matty Taylor. Danny was an almost present in the team last season. It was his turn to be sent off at Colchester this season, as all Exeter City players now come to expect! He then suffered a horrendous back injury in a training ground incident, and he feared he’d never play again. He’s made an excellent recovery thank goodness, and will be welcomed back in to defence to form a working relationship with Pat Baldwin who was brought to cover for him last season.
