Craig Woodman signs for the Grecians?

Brentford have announced the contract termination of their defender Craig Woodman, according to Brentford FC. Paul Tisdale had talked about signing Craig in the local newspaper a month ago, but only if Billy Jones doesn’t sign. It therefore looks like he will be signing for Exeter City, and perhaps this means Billy has walked away from the Grecians.

Craig Woodman made his debut on 5th December 2000 for Bristol City in a 3-0 defeat at Home Park. Playing alongside Danny Coles, Joe Burnell and Tommy Doherty. He played twice more that season, a 4-0 defeat, and a 0-0.

Craig went on to make 91 appearances for Bristol City, plus 21 appearances from the bench. Scoring the one goal. He then went on loan to Mansfield, and Torquay twice, before landing up at Wycombe Wanderers on a free in May 2007. He made 119 League 2 and League 1 appearances for the Chairboys. Then he moved to Griffin Park, making 76 appearances, and released by Brentford FC today. He played against Exeter City 4 times in the 2010/11 season, including the  2 JPT ties. He earned himself a booking in the 4-2 win over the Grecians at St James Park.

This would give a defensive line-up, we’d suggest, of: Steve Tully: Pat Baldwin; Danny Coles; and Craig Woodman.
